Tim Goodwin is a singer/songwriter from Northfield, MN. He plays original songs and some signature covers. His musical roots are in folk and Americana. His warm, baritone voice traces love, loss, and tells stories from all walks of life.

Tim has been a teacher all his life, only really digging into songwriting the last few years, His musical influences include John Prine, Eliza Gilkyson, John Gorka, and Steve Earle. His songs communicate the truths he sees in the world, whether the truths he sings of are easy or difficult.

His 2020 album The New American Way begins with “My Heart Aches,” a co-write with Eliza Gilkyson. He followed that with the album, Together, released in 2023. Tim is constantly writing, releasing, A Set of Stories, in the fall of 2024. In the fall of 2026 Tim wrote a “musical novella” called This Town, a collection of spoken word stories and songs telling the story of Katie and Danny falling in love and growing up in a small town in the U.S.

 In January, Tim quickly wrote and recorded an EP called We Rise in response to “Operation Metro Surge” in Minnesota.
